Foul Play (1978)

I am a sucker for San Francisco movies and this is definitely in my top five!

Librarian Gloria Mundy (Goldie Hawn) becomes the target of an unsavory group when a detective hides an important roll of their film in her purse. When the detective is murdered and the film is revealed to hold plans of an assassination in San Francisco, members of the group try to bump Gloria off.

However, the group underestimates Gloria's resilience and savvy and with the help of charming detective Tony Carlson (Chevy Chase), she may be the key to stop the assassination and bring the whole group to justice.

This is a comedy with multiple chase scenes (a welcomed bonus for any San Francisco movie) and a quirkiness that is hard to resist!
