Picnic at Hanging Rock (Joan Lindsay)

When I watched Virgin Suicides, I had no idea Sofia Coppola was influenced by Peter Weir's film adaptation of Picnic at Hanging Rock.

When I watched Picnic at Hanging Rock, I absolutely saw the correlation and both are equally mesmerizing in their own way.

Treat yourself to the movie after reading the book...I don't know how many books I read just because of the movie treat awaiting me after I finished the source material but there's been plenty! It's eating your veggies before dessert: good for the body, good for the soul ;)
